Quiet & Pretty
Uses an AMD style fitting for AMD & intel, a plastic adapter with push pins is used for intel. The adapter isn't perfectly made, so a little bending and pushing was needed (I used 3 pins in the inner socket and 1 in the outer). The AMD style fitting arm is a bit tricky but once you get over the thought that you're going to break it then it's fine. There's 4 pairs of brackets, giving 8 possible mountings, so you should be able to fit it in a way the retention arm doesn't interfere with ram etc. I'm not sure I'd be happy using this mounting system with a tower cooler but for a top down it's a solid enough fitting.Cooling is on par with stock cooler with copper core, maybe a degree or 2 better. TBH if you want better cooling you need to use a heatsink that has heatpipes. At idle it's noticeably quieter than the stock cooler, the noise ramps up under load but still less intrusive than the stock cooler. It's also very pretty, bright but not harsh red light on the fan with the black collar giving a halo glow effect to the remainder of the cooler.I was going to give a 4 rating due to the fitting, but at the price (£10.99) you have to give it a little slack. Would definitely buy again if I build another system.

cheap design
The fan itself is very good and very quiet, however the heat sink does not fully cover the AMD3 chipafter fiddly installation my pc still ran hot so I thought I would try to re position the heat sink by removing it and starting again but when i tried to remove it one of the clips snapped (very thin). Also does not come with any thermal paste.I threw the heat sink away and managed to secure the fan to an old heatsink...worked a treat :)

Doing an excellent job ...
Absolutely no complaints at all1 year later, and I have been using non-stop on an i7 Gen3 @ 3.1 Ghz (Ivy bridge) with 16GB ram GTX 950 Strix and ~8TB storage internal and external. CPU is steady at 47-49C general , 80-84C when nearing 100% utilization encoding video files etc. This is a general purpose PC, that sometimes plays world of warships, sometime encodes MP4 files to my home cinema lib.. This cooler is ideal. Quiet and efficient. For a non-gaming setup like this - this is perfect. Deffinitely recommend.
