Next Organics Dried Crystallized Ginger, 6 Ounce (Pack of 6)

I purchased these in a store first, then stocked up on them here. The store batch (same bag but different expiration date) was perfection. They were sliced thinner, felt almost cold to the bite and were somewhat crunchy. They were also a little sweeter. This batch is good but thicker and not quite as sweet. Organic and natural products vary. People in different countries are probably manually chopping this stuff up, so the thickness varies somewhat from batch to batch. Big deal. I originally wrote a negative review about these and now feel that they're fine. They're just different. The next batch might be like the first. This company is giving work to people who really need it in Sri Lanka, Mexico, Peru and Costa Rica. I just hope they're being paid well enough. Just know that this product will vary from batch to batch but it's perfectly good coconut.

So all crystallized ginger that I've ever had (several brands) has a chewy type texture. But not this...it's really freaking weird. Almost like it's been freeze dried. Kind of crunchy....def hard to explain. I've only had a couple of pieces so far and will update this review if the rest of the bag is any better. Based on my current experience, I will not purchase this brand again.

Not what I expected. Sorta like chips...bigger than shavings, but very very dry, difficult to swallow. Cannot return...good way to get $30 out of you and you CANNOT RETURN it. Don't waste your money, NO FLAVOR whatsoever. Dry and tasteless.

1. It tastes ok but not like (I'm quoting) "true ginger" -- there is some strange, "background" taste present -- as though something else is added for a better flavor. I purchased other brands (not mentioning them here to be more objective) to compare agains this brand, and I also had participants to evaluate which one they would prefer. Answer: again, this one is tasty, but the other brands were preferred for the "gingerness" and naturalness. My friends commented on the "weird" flavor in this "Next Organic" brand.2. Its texture is strange, too. It is soft, like it was pre-cooked and then soaked in and crystallized with sugar.3. Visually, other brands are thin-sliced pieces. These are medium-size bits.Conclusion: I'm not an expert on Ginger, but this one is not what I expected. It's more cheap candy with ginger flavor than it is ginger with sugar, as claimed.

These are really good! They are very spicy, yet sweet. I feel a bit guilty about the sugar, but these are addictive!

AWESOME low carb snack! BUT WHAT'S WITH THE HUGE CALORIE CHANGE FOR SAME PRODUCT!?? Last time i ordered it was only 149 calories for same serving size

Great product. It has a little spicy kick at the end but it’s not overbearing. I wish they sold it in larger bags because I eat this daily to help my upset stomach and I’m having to order it every couple days. Other than needing to purchase this in a larger quantity I have no complaints about the product and would definitely order again.

These are my absolute favorite brand of dried Mangos! A perfect mix of sweet and sour deliciousness. I've always gotten fresh bags and no concerns about quality. The only problem is, as soon as I purchase them, they are gone within days because everyone in the house loves to snack on them. You won't be disappointed!
