Everything you need to know to help manage this condition with diet
My husband has had gout for many years, and although he knows the basics of what to avoid etc, he does still have several attacks each year (nobody's perfect!). He loved the recipes in this book--it's inspirational and nice to see that even when avoiding certain foods, you can still make beautiful food that tastes good. I love how the book reads--it's nicely organized, covers everything in an approachable way, not preachy or overly scientific. It's also a beautiful book to read. I'm happy I got this book and know that we'll be using it from here on out.

Foot diet book
Newly diagnosed with gout and this helps me with meal planning. Great book with recipes

inconsistent serving sizes
I've made a few of the recipes, they have all been very tasty. However, there is no consistency in how many portions are being made across each of the recipes. As a result, its not a good meal planning tool. It doesn't work for a family (often not enough food) or a single person (often too much food). Not a good book for meal planning as a result.

For the wife of husband with gout
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Please tell me you have more cookbooks!!! I never write reviews but I just had to write something. My husband has been suffering with gout & we both felt hopeless at first. We found your book, learned more about the condition & felt impowered to try this diet together. After 3, I repeat THREE days of starting this diet my husband’s symptoms were reduced. After 5 days - his flare up was gone. We attribute it to this diet! Both he, I & the kids are eating better and feeling better. And the FOOD!!! I thought.....oh my, reduce salt, reduce fat, reduce portion, reduce....reduce.....reduce....it’s not going to taste good & we’ll be miserable. Oh NO....the food is delicious & so flavorful! Fresh, quick & easy! Thank-you so much Miss Sophia. We feel blessed to have found your book & I hope we can find you online so we can enjoy more of your receipes and thoughtful advice. Hugs to you!

Outstanding!
I have gout and the doctor wanted to put me on daily medication for it and I decided. I would try changing my diet first, so I looked for a cookbook and found this one. This cookbook is so complete with the exception of pictures with the recipes. That would just be a plus! I It's so awesome! It does include meals with meat and seafood, but if you look at the portions it's in moderation which is tolerable with gout.The recipes come with nutrition amounts, ingredient, preparation and variation tips. It's just amazing! I included pictures of two dishes that I made from the recipes.
